This self adhesive bedding in tape from Vitcas is ideal for protecting your glass against damage. It is used to cushion the glass against any metal work and reduce the risk of cracking.
We always recommend replacing the bedding in tape when you are fitting a new piece of glass.
How to fit
Simply peel off the protective backing, stick directly onto the edge of your replacement stove glass and press firmly down, ensuring both sides of the glass are covered.
The tape is really easy to use. Cut to size, peel off tapes backing and stick into place.
It's worked well for our fire .
Product exactly as described. Swift delivery and good communication from vendor.
Glass delivered quickly, size and shape perfect, and survived first firing.
Would use supplier again.
Great service, would happily recommend and will use again myself.
When fitting new stove glass it's important that no part of the glass comes into contact with any metal on the door and that's where this tape comes in.
The tape has an adhesive backing which leaves it easy to affix it to the glass as long as it is clean and obviously dry and fingerprint free. As the tape is 10mm wide I stuck it along each side for about half the width of the tape and then folded the other half up along the edge of the glass in order to provide a good seal and avoid any contact with metal, I also placed some of the tape between the glass and the metal retainers, the result was door glass which is perfectly sealed and insulated from the metal frame.
The tape is easy and convenient to use and can be cut with an ordinary pair of scissors or a sharp Stanley knife, there is also enough tape left over to do another door but hopefully that won't be required.
All in all this is a good quality product which was delivered very quickly and was very reasonably priced, I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.
